Anxiety in the Workplace has been on the Rise

We have seen anxiety steadily rising among employees and our data has identified 4 Leadership behaviors to help mitigate this rising anxiety. We also work with NYT best selling author, Chester Elton, learning from his research in his newest book, ”Anxiety at Work” to learn more about this growing phenomenon.

Here are the 4 Leadership behaviors you can use today to keep anxiety from negatively impacting your culture:

  1. Provide lots of open/honest communication. More than you think they might need or even want.
  2. Be patient and understanding. You may FEEL patient and understanding. Make sure you demonstrate it.
  3. Tell employees how they are doing. Regular, positive, directed feedback is critical to reducing anxiety.
  4. Be transparent about the direction of the organization. An absence of good communication causes speculation. Speculation enhances anxiety.

We’re gonna get through this!
